the truth about college

I decided the night before the deadline to attend Texas Christian University (home of the horned frog).
I took a huge risk and kind of “whinged it” considering I had never been to Texas and knew three people going to TCU. This first semester went absolutely nothing like I had expected it to go and there are a few misconceptions I want to clear up.

People don't tell you that you will spend most of your day alone, figuring out where your classes are, sitting in class, walking to your next location, and even being in your dorm.

People don't tell you how hard it is to make real friends and to get out there and meet people.

People don’t tell you that your classes will be extremely hard but they don't take importance over your physical and emotional health.

People don't tell you that when you're crying on the phone to your mom, feeling like you have no friends... Most likely someone right down the hall is doing the same.

People don't tell you how behnd all the instagram pictures and snapchat stories, everyone from your high school is going through a hard time just like you.

But the main thing people forget to mention, is that you're there to get an education. You are in school to learn about what you love to do and friends will come. Friends take time and to have a friend you must be a friend.

College is extremely hard mentally and emotionally but it has given me a strength that I could not owe to none other than the Lord Jesus Christ.
